Red River Valley Water Supply Project

Construction Updates

The 125-mile transmission pipeline for the Red River Valley Water Supply Project is currently under construction. When it is complete, the buried pipeline will span from the McClusky Canal to the discharge structure, which empties into the Sheyenne River, located about six miles south of Cooperstown. The Missouri River intake pumping station wet well, intake screen structure, and tunnel are complete. The outfall discharge structure on the Sheyenne River is also already constructed.

MISSOURI RIVER INTAKE PUMPING STATION WETWELL AND SITE DEVELOPMENT, CONTRACT 1 ($4.7M)

  • Improvements to the intake site located south of Washburn, adjacent to the Missouri River, consisting of site work, access road improvements, and installation of secant piles for the tunnel shaft/pumping station wetwell excavation.

MISSOURI RIVER INTAKE, SCREEN STRUCTURE & TUNNEL, CONTRACT 2 ($19.4M)

  • Complete
  • Installation of a 72-inch steel tunnel under the Missouri River; construction of an intake screen structure in the river; and placement of the final concrete liner and plug in the tunnel shaft/ pumping station wetwell, located 4 miles south of Washburn.
