2023-2025 Funding
Senate Bill 2020 (SB2020), the Department of Water Resources Budget, approved legislative intent for the RRVWSP totaling $953 million in future funding, which included $180 million for the RRVWSP in the 2023-2025 biennium. 

2021-2023 Funding
House Bill 1020 (HB1020), the State Water Commission Budget, included $50 million for the RRVWSP in the 2021-2023 biennium.

The $50 million will be matched with a local cost share of $16.7 million and allow for the Missouri River Intake screens and tunnel construction, Segment 1 of the main pipeline design and construction, and for further land acquisition.

2019-2021 Funding
Governor Doug Burgum signed Senate Bill 2020 (SB2020), the 2019-2021 State Water Commission budget, with $30 million for the RRVWSP and a cost share requirement of 75 percent state and 25 percent local.

The funds allowed the project to continue moving forward with:

• Phased Final Design
• Land Services
• Financial Modeling
• Construction Support

SB 2020 also includes $13 million in carryover grant funds from the 2017-2019 budget for the RRVWSP.
